Yes, you can! With PennyTalk, you can call anyone, anywhere within the U.S. and Canada for just 1¢ a minute. International rates start as low as 2¢ a minute. And, you can use PennyTalk from any phone — even your cell phone. A 49¢ connection fee applies to each connected call.

How does PennyTalk work?
To use PennyTalk, you will need to sign up for an account. A PennyTalk prepaid account can be opened instantly with as little as $25. You will choose an Account Number and PIN and can start making calls right away. As you make calls, charges are deducted from your account balance. With each call you place, you will hear your remaining balance. You may add funds to your account at any time or enable the Auto-Recharge option so you never have to worry about running out of call time. At PennyTalk, we make it simple for you. Can I use my PennyTalk calling card from any phone?
You can use your calling card from any phone in the U.S. and Canada at anytime! Your PennyTalk calling card is also the perfect traveling partner, giving you access to savings from any phone in the U.S.!

Can I make PennyTalk calls with my cell phone?
Yes! You can make PennyTalk calls within the U.S. and Canada to more than 250 countries from your cell phone! Making international calls with your cell phone is easy - and the same great PennyTalk rates apply. You may, however, incur airtime charges or additional charges depending on your cellular service plan. Consult your cellular provider for details.

Are the rates higher if I call TO a cellular phone?
If you call TO a cellular phone outside of the U.S. or Canada, a higher rate per minute may apply. Please consult the rates for the country you are calling. If there is no cellular rate listed, the country rate is the rate you will pay.

Am I going to need a local access number?
No. There are no local access numbers to remember. Instead, just dial 1-877-PENNY-25 (1-877-736-6925) from any location in the U.S. and Canada!

Is there a Spanish language access number?

Are there any additional charges?
With PennyTalk, there are no hidden charges. There is a 49¢ connection fee which is charged at the time each call is made and answer supervision is received. There is also a 99¢ monthly service fee that applies to all accounts and is charged on each monthly anniversary of activation. Calls made from Alaska are billed an additional 10¢ per minute. Surcharges may apply for calls made from a cellular phone. A 90¢ payphone operator recovery fee will be charged on calls made from payphones.

Can I make PennyTalk calls right away?
Yes, you can! You will have a minimum $3.00 balance available for calls until your credit card is verified. Your full balance will be available for calls within 2 business days. You will receive an e-mail notice when verification is complete. You will also receive a PennyTalk card in the mail in about 7 days.

Can I use PennyTalk to make calls while I am outside of the U.S.?
Yes. In addition to making calls from the United States, you can use PennyTalk from Canada, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam for no additional charge. (Calls made from Alaska will incur a $0.10 per minute surcharge; calls made from Canada are charged in U.S. dollars.)

You can also use PennyTalk from over 30 countries around the world with our toll-free international access numbers. Our standard connection fee applies. (If you are calling from a hotel, please check that the access number is considered toll-free by the hotel.)

What Enhanced Services does PennyTalk offer?
The PennyTalk calling card gives you access to up-to-the-minute news, sports scores, general sports, weather, and operator assistance. To use this service from your phone, press *5 when prompted to "enter the number you wish to dial." You will then hear a list of menu options from which to choose. You will be charged on a per-minute basis as if you were calling the U.S., plus a 49¢ connection fee.

Can PennyTalk be used for faxing?
Yes. You can use PennyTalk to send faxes. Follow the dialing instructions and when prompted for the number you wish to call, enter the recipient's fax number. Then press Send or Start on your fax machine once the call connects.

Can I use my relative's credit card to purchase a PennyTalk calling card?
If you wish to use your relative's credit card, the credit card holder must fax us a letter with their signature authorizing you to use their credit card along with a copy of their credit card statement showing their first and last name, billing address, and credit card number. They should name you in the authorization letter. Please fax the letter to the Customer Service Department at 1-443-705-0709. Once we receive the authorization letter we will do a bank check to verify the credit card holder and will place the funds in your account.

What is the PayPal payment agreement?
When paying using PayPal, you will be asked to accept an agreement that allows PennyTalk to debit an amount from your PayPal account on your behalf. This is done to allow Auto-Recharge to work on your PennyTalk account. Please note that we will only debit funds from your account if you selected the Auto-Recharge option.

If you did not select the Auto-Recharge option, you still need to accept the agreement to pay using PayPal, but we will not debit your account further. (We keep a record of the agreement on file in case you later add Auto-Recharge to your account.) For further information on this agreement, please consult the PayPal website.

Advanced Features: No-PIN Dialing

How do I register a phone number for No-PIN Dialing?
There are three ways to register a phone number for No-PIN Dialing:

  • Online: You can add, change, and delete your No-PIN settings in the No-PIN Settings section of our online account center.
  • From your phone: Dial your access number from the phone you would like to register, enter your account number and PIN, then press *2. You have successfully registered your phone for No-PIN Dialing.
  • Customer Service: If you experienced difficulty registering phone numbers for No-PIN Dialing, you may call our Customer Service team for assistance.

How do I remove a phone number from No-PIN Dialing?
There are two ways to remove a phone number from No-PIN Dialing:

  • Online: You can delete, add, and change your No-PIN settings in the No-PIN Settings section of our online account center.
  • From your phone: Dial your access number from the phone that is already registered for No-PIN Dialing, then press *7. The phone will no longer be registered for No-PIN Dialing.
