Getting a PennyTalk AccountPennyTalk is a prepaid calling service that offers big savings on your international and domestic calls. A credit or debit card is required at sign up to create your account. The minimum initial purchase is $25 of calling funds. Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted. You will be able to start making calls right away with the account number (usually your phone number) and 4-digit PIN you choose when you enroll. Follow the dialing instructions below to make calls. How Billing Works and How to Add FundsAs you make calls with PennyTalk, the cost of your call is deducted from your account balance. You will hear your account balance at the beginning of every call you make. When your balance is low, adding funds is easy. You can choose to add funds to your account any of 3 ways -- by calling the PennyTalk access number; online at the PennyTalk Account Center; or on the phone with a customer service representative. At no time will a charge be made without your authorization. Additionally, you have the option to sign up for our Automatic Recharge feature so you will always have funds for calls. With Automatic Recharge, the charge thresholds are set by you. For example, you can choose to have $10 added to your account automatically each time your balance falls to $5. Automatic Recharge is an optional, free feature of PennyTalk. You can access your call history and billing details at anytime at the PennyTalk online account center. No statements are sent in the mail. What It CostsPennyTalk has great, low rates to more than 200 countries -- as low as 1¢ a minute. Calls within the U.S. and to Canada and the U.K. are only 1¢ a minute. To see all rates, click here. For each connected call, there is a low 49¢ connection fee. For example, a 30-minute call to Mexico costs just $1.09. That’s just 2¢ a minute plus a 49¢ connection fee. There is also a monthly account service fee of 99¢ that applies to all accounts and is charged on each monthly anniversary of service activation. Calls from payphones are also charged a 90¢ payphone operator recovery fee. The cost of your calls is deducted from your account balance. You will hear your account balance every time you make a call. Making CallsOnce you have opened a PennyTalk account, you can easily make calls at great low rates. It is very important that you DO NOT press Send, OK or Call after dialing the number you are calling. If you do, this will cancel your PennyTalk call and the call will be carried and billed by your wireless service provider. Before each call connects, you will hear your account balance and minutes remaining. Calling From Outside the U.S.Traveling abroad? Use your PennyTalk calling card to stay connected. You can make calls from over 30 countries, including country-to-country calling, with our toll-free international access numbers. If the country you wish to call from is not listed, PennyTalk does not offer service from that location. To see rates for calls made using an international access number, go to the Rates page and select the country you will be calling from. If you plan to use your U.S. cell phone outside of the U.S., please contact your cellular service provider before doing so.
